  • another one that really tell it's bad green screen is the total lack of ambient occlusion, it's more of a videogame term, but it's the penumbra that forms around objects that are close to each other

  • That shot with Guardians of the Galaxy is called a dolly zoom or Hitchcock shot and is used a lot in movies to indicate someone learned something dramatic or important so you want to focus on them and their reaction as it takes up more of the screen.

  • Ever wondered why in a TV studio of even OB shots, the camera is around 6 to 8 feet away from the person being interviewed? It is because that is roughly the distance between your sofa and your TV. You are looking at somebody talking to you in a box on the other side of your room so if they don't look as though they are that far away, it will look wrong. That is another consideration.

  • I've binge watching Tom's content for a couple days and last night Tom was in my dream. I don't remember much but Tom had a presentation of some sort for my old class in my old school. No idea what the presentation was about because I woke up laughing after Tom had in a crowded class room somehow found a chair and said "hey I found a free chair for someone" and proceeded to sit down on it. Thank you Tom for invading my dreams. You're the best. No seriously love your content :)

  • hmmm.... how we can recognize things? it seems easy to explain, but how we can recognize that a rock its not looks that tasty like a cake? and something that has life and something that doesnt? how we can recognize a person on an animated show? why we can have terror in something lifeless? idk, but i dont need sleep, i need answers! its 5 am and im still thinking about that.
